Karen Deeter brings twenty-five years professional project management, research, and implementation experience in solid waste. As a long-time public works/waste management director for a progressive Florida county, Karen managed a municipal integrated solid waste management system consisting of an environmental park, transfer station, material recovery facility, commercial waste diversion program, public education program, waste and recyclables collection, and engineering department (including permitting of solid waste facilities, closed landfill compliance monitoring and ongoing research projects). Karen developed and managed multi-million dollar annual solid waste budgets, and supervised over 60 employees. She has served as a consultant since 2010, specializing in program and policy analysis, research, and development of company technical deliverables.
